Fitness Assessment Response Form
Thank you for your interest in the services provided by Essential Fitness. The assessment results that are provided below are based on the information that you recently submitted on your fitness assessment form. Your information was analyzed by Essential Fitness under the direction of David Spindel, M.S., C.P.F.T.. The results of this analysis are interpretations, based on the extensive nutrition and fitness background of Mr. Spindel, of your stated current fitness profile and are framed against your stated goals. The primary use of this fitness assessment is to provide you with fitness advice and a goal accomplishment timetable that may be achieved if you implement a productive nutrition and exercise plan.
These results are not to be construed as medical advice. It is recommended that you consult with your physician prior to commencing a rigorous exercise program or making major changes in your lifestyle.
Client Name: SAMPLE CLIENT
Date of Assessment: March 11, 1998
Height of Client: 6 foot 0 inches
Age of Client: 35 yrs.
| Overall Target Goals: |
| For a male at 6'0" without a great deal of muscle, based on the data that you supplied, you need to drop your bodyfat down to 15 percent. The subsequent table provides additional recommendations and a target goal achievement timetable. The timetable is based on following an effective nutrition and exercise program. |
| Current | Target | Total Change | Monthly Rate of Change | Months to reach Target | |
| Weight | 248 lbs. | 190 lbs. | -58 lbs. | -15 lbs. per mo. | 4 mos. |
| Waist | 40 in. | 34 in. | -6 in. | -1.5 in. per mo. | 4 mos. |
| Exercise Considerations: |
| Based on your current routine which is based on light calisthenics, and considering your prior exercise routine, you need to perform exercise
that will help you to rebuild the muscle that has been
lost due to lack of use. Note: we lose muscle at a rate of 1/2 lb. per year after the age of 20 years old. Regaining this muscle, and hence
dropping bodyfat, will give you a better look, since muscle is denser than fat, and will
increase your daily caloric needs (raise your metabolic
rate). Your voluntary muscle forms the vast majority of the
calorie consumptive tissue in the body (to the tune of 50 calories per lb. ===> 35 yrs. old ===>7.5 lbs. lost ===> which translates to the fact that you better be consuming 375 kcals. per day less than you did at age 20). Since an excess of 3,500 kcals will add 1 lb. to your bodyweight, you can see that the muscle loss will have a great impact into the phenomena called age related weight creep. Note: that if you were to perform 30 mins. of calorie consumptive exercise (i.e., treadmill, aerobics, etc.) per day, you would consume 250 calories of the excess 375 calories due to muscle loss. Therefore the difference of 125 daily excess calories, at 3,500 calories per lb., would translate to a gain of 1 lb. per month, or 12 lbs. per year. The type of exercise that will be most beneficial to you is a properly developed resistance training program. This weight training program will directly help you to build back this lost muscle. As a side benefit, this program will leave you with more strength with which to attack the rigors of your daily life. This will leave you with more energy, since you do not need to expend as much effort to "live life". You will need to progress through this program carefully as follows. First, an educational phase, to learn how to properly, and safely, perform the weight training exercises. Secondly, a conditioning phase will prepare you for the third phase, the actual muscle building routines. Note: your commitment to the routines, that we will develop, can be 3 (to 4) days per week, and will not take more than 1 hour per session. This is not a major commitment of your time, and the payoff, in terms of how you deal with the next phase of your life, will be profound!! Then, hopefully, you will have the energy to think about participating in recreational forms of exercise on your days off from the gym. |
| Dietary Considerations: |
| In order to reduce your weight to your target weight (and bodyfat) you are going to follow a dietary plan that will
facilitate the accomplishment of this goal. Your diet
needs to be based on small frequent meals of proper portion sizes, minimizing fat and sugar intake while
keeping an adequate supply of protein (to maintain the all important calorie consuming muscle tissue). This maintanence of muscle is key to your long lasting success in managing your body weight, and is the reason that most classical diets, which are not protein sensitive, leave the individual with less muscle, and hence, a slower metabolism than they had prior to the diet. You will need to consider some supplementation to provide your body with the co-factors (i.e. nutrients) necessary to metabolize proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. You might want to consider the FITNESS PACK for the co-factors and the following catalysts that will help to expedite the process; GH FORMULA and ROCK HARD. As part of our dietary consultation, we will formally tell you how to integrate these supplements into a specific eating plan. Note: the notion of supplementing with pharmacological agents as phentermine and dexfenfluramine to curb the appetite rarely has long lasting benefits (except to enrich the pockets of the individual who prescribed them to you), since the real weight control techniques must still be learned. |
| Health Considerations: |
| Exercise is a great form of stress release, and more than a few depression cases have been alleviated by the sense of empowerment that accompanies the successful accomplishment of achieving the individuals physical goals. The high blood pressure and family history of heart disease are exactly the resason that time is of the essence to improve you health characteristics by reducing your weight and bodyfat, while tangentially improving cardiac function. A good physical is probably in order by a competent health care professional. This strengthening routine must be designed and implemented with extreme care, and the necessity for a conditioning period can not be overstated. |
In order to achieve your goals it is essential that a proper nutritional program must be coupled with a productive exercise program. These two key components of your fitness lifestyle will permit you to accomplish your fitness goals, and lead a healthier more active life.
